Charles Paillet was born in 1871 in Nievre, France. His first exhibition was in the Salon of 1897. He was renown for car mascots which included animals such as elephants, bears, cats and owls.
A RARE ‘PERCHED OWL’ MASCOT BY CHARLES PAILLET, FRENCH, CIRCA 1920, signed to base, hollow-cast nickel-plated, with fine detailing, 13.5cm high, mounted on a period radiator cap above a turned wooden display base.
